Our Apologies for the lack of news recently...

If you had looked here last week, we would have been out of date. We thought we'd just say sorry for this. However, in our defence, it's because we've been terrifically busy. While this might seem a lame excuse, we thought we'd better take an hour out of our busy schedules to (finally) let you know what we've been up to for the last few months.

However, as a side note, our emphasis as a Company is on providing expert IT solutions to meet your needs. Our objective is to deliver high quality implementations, which are installed right first time and run for many years with the minimum of problems

Sorry, if, as technical people, we're poor at blowing our own trumpets. We hope that you feel it's important for us to technically service our customers, before we worry about shouting about it. We invite you to challenge our abilities, so on that note, we'd look forward to hearing about any projects that you might like help with

As mentioned above, we were conscious that our site has been a bit out of date recently. So, we've decided we're going to fix it. Today, we started planning how we will be redesigning this site, from the ground up. We plan on making information easier to find, as well as adding significantly more details about our products and services.

Additionally, we will be revamping the look and feel, as we think it's getting a bit tired. So, expect to see a new look, around September to October 2008.

We are now approved EMC Storage Partners. Several key people within basic have attended courses and past EMC's requirements to enable us to provide this product set.

We will be adding a few pages on this product area shortly. However in line with our website overhaul, we will add more when we launch the new site.

June 2008

Basic signed up as EMC Partners, with a view to supplying our Customers with the leading storage products available on the market today.

Basic Software has taken the exciting step of commencing research and development work on the beta version of Lotus Notes Domino 8.5. Not currently out yet, but offering some exciting new technology options for us, as developers, we have been immersing ourselves more and more into this beta, in order to ensure we are fully up to speed when IBM launch it.

Basic were promoted to a higher VMWARE partner status this month, due to the level of business we have achieved, along with the number of additional people with basic who have now passed the VMWARE Certified professional exams.

Big Congratulations to the guys putting the hardwork in, not simply for passing the exams, but for rolling out several critical installations of VMWARE ESX Server. We have already delivered return on investment to Customers, on serveral large consolidation projects. We plan on putting some information up on this exciting area, over the coming weeks (as at todays date of 30 July 2008). We'll also add more information when we launch our new site (please refer above).

Basic Software Implementation: This month kept our Software division busy with more implementations of our applications for the IBM Lotus Notes Domino platform.

Two of these alone were for global consumer / commercial electronics companies. Although the projects themselves are for their UK based businesses, we certainly appreciate being able to install our work into two more household names.

March 2008

Basic Software Implementation: A bespoke project already designed and implemented for one of our customers had a major update of features and functions this month. Not only have we installed some new features to existing Lotus Notes based applications, but at the same time, we have web-enabled many core features of the original system.

We were also excited as this customer went past the 10,000 user milestone (unique users within their names.nsf directory). We have been honored to have worked long and hard with this company, to help them significantly re-engineer their business by using our applications.

I hope that this gives you a quick idea of some of the things that have kept us busy. But if you want to ask us about any of the items on our site, please feel free to drop us an email.
