Below we have detailed some of the new feature for Domino R6 & R7. basic have been running seminars on this new technology and are ready to help you implement and achieve the best from this new version.

Domino 6 & 7 now provides additional installation options for UNIX systems:

• A new Domino Server Setup Program, which lets you set up a server either remotely or locally, is available on all server platforms.
• The new Domino Server Setup Profile allows you automate server setups by recording setups and re-running them during another installation.
• R6 & R7 Server performance is improved with items such as View logging (transaction logging of key views), health check functions, better agent management, schedule management, clustering and load balancing.
• Enhanced cluster support in R6 & R7 includes detection of software failures and automatic fault recovery.
• New R6 & R7 Streaming Replication improves replication between servers, and clients to servers. R6 & R7 uses a single replication request to dramatically reduce replication time. Streaming replication allows R6 & R7 Notes clients to receive documents even if replication is stopped early!
• Network Usage between Domino Servers and Notes Clients is also improved with remote dial up users seeing big time savings with data compression options.
• FullText search engines and Formula languages have been re-written in R6 & R7, improving performance.
• New Policies and Settings allow centralised configuration and management in the following areas:
• Registration policies
• Setup and Desktop policies
• Archiving policies
• Security policies
• Server Reporting has major improvements in providing information on server load, mail usages, user usage etc.
• Re-architectured HTTP server and site management functions allow better web site and applications management
• Active Directory integration for Domino R6 & R7 Servers will allow user synchronisation.
• Domino Hosting features allow big improvements in muti-organisation environments.
• Revised Certificate Authority for R6 & R7.
