Real-time, continuous offsite data protection and failover

Based on NSI Software's proven Double-Take replication technology, GeoCluster extends the capabilities of Microsoft Cluster Service (MSCS) to create a stretch cluster. While MSCS, and clustering in general, provides a high level of application availability, MSCS clusters maintain only a single copy of the data and only provide failover within a single site. Built on top of MSCS, GeoCluster offers added data protection, assuring continual access to data and applications across sites.

GeoCluster provides:

Real-time, continuous offsite data protection and failover to ensure that business-critical data and applications can be recovered quickly, despite complete failure at any single site

Improved data availability

With byte-level replication ensuring maximum application performance and minimum bandwidth requirements, GeoCluster reduces exposure to data loss and eliminates the single point of failure of shared disk storage

Reduced downtime

Application failover is fast and automatic, eliminating or greatly reducing any downtime

More flexibility

Only replicated drive letters and capacity need to match between cluster nodes making it possible to create clusters using existing servers and storage. GeoCluster supports active/active configurations where each node can be supporting production users but failover for the other node as required.

Lower cost option than building a traditional cluster

Since replication occurs over standard IP LAN or VLAN connections, dedicated links, channel extenders or storage routers are not required.
