New systems and software… it all adds up

The Background

Dawes & Sutton asked Basic for support when they were advised their current software would no longer be supported and would need to be upgraded due to incompatibility with their operating system. They were using Windows XP with a physical Windows small business 2003 server incorporating Exchange, this had also reached the end of life and official support had ceased.

Newer versions of their accountancy and payroll software IRIS would be incompatible on their systems, causing an increasing number of issues.

The practice was backing up to tape every night, which relied on someone taking it off site the next day. The quality of the back-up was uncertain and failed on occasions.

The Basic solution

We replaced all their PCs, operating system, printers and server to compatible, cost-effective versions. The practice is now on Windows 7 and Office 365.

Basic now hosts their back-up via the internet to our own secure data centre, sending a daily report detailing any potential issues. We provide remote support at all times, smoothing out any IT issues quickly and effectively. This includes future upgrades and patches to their servers, PCs, accountancy suite and payroll software.
